What is Dytor?
Dytor containing the active ingredient torsemide is considered a loop diuretic or water tablet type of medication. The medication works by causing the kidneys to remove excess fluid and salt by increasing the production of urine. It can be used to treat swelling and edema (fluid retention) in patients with congestive heart failure, liver disease or kidney disorders such as nephritic syndrome. Reducing extra fluid in the body can also treat high blood pressure (hypertension) which can help prevent strokes, heart attacks and kidney problems.

How is Dytor used? 
Dytor is usually taken orally once daily in the morning or as directed by a doctor. The medication can be taken with or without food but should be taken with plenty of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage as it will depend on the patient's condition and their reaction to the treatment. It is recommended to take the tablets no later than mid-afternoon to prevent having to wake up in the middle of the night to urinate. Do not discontinue the therapy without consulting a doctor, even if you feel well, as high blood pressure usually has no visible symptoms.

Patients using Dytor may encounter unwanted side effects such as:

• Headaches
• Nausea
• Upset stomach
• Vomiting
• Dry mouth

Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or encounter more severe side effects such as:

• Dehydration
• Confusion
• Muscle cramps or pain
• Low potassium levels
• Irregular heartbeats
• Excessive fatigue
• Ringing in the ears
